A heavy, sculptural table lamp created by cladding stacked, weighted plastic water bottles in textured plaster wrap and fitting with a brass socket.

  • Cut the tops off two 1.5-liter rigid water bottles; fill the bottom bottle with dry sand or river gravel to establish a heavy, tip-proof base.

  • Join the bottles end-to-end around a central threaded brass lamp pipe using two-part structural epoxy.

  • Wrap the entire stacked column in plaster-impregnated gauze bandages (ModRoc), modeling rough brutalist ridges and geometric facets by hand.

  • Once the plaster cures rock-hard, paint with a wash of dark charcoal and slate-gray mineral paint.

  • Install a standard 3-way brass lamp socket kit at the top of the rod, add a 2700K warm LED bulb, and top with an off-white linen drum lampshade.
