Concept Overview & Spatial Design
A heavy-duty aluminum or steel horizontal track (e.g., Gladiator GearTrack or Rubbermaid FastTrack) fitted with sliding, rubber-dipped vertical bike hooks.
Step-by-Step Installation Blueprint
-
Mount a 4-foot or 6-foot steel track horizontally across at least 3 wall studs at 68 to 72 inches from the floor.
-
Drive two 3-inch structural screws into every stud intersection along the track channel.
-
Snap vertical bike hooks into the track channel.
-
Stagger alternating hooks: use a standard hook on bike 1, and an extended drop hook on bike 2 to offset handlebar heights.
-
Slide hooks along the rail to adjust spacing for fat-tire, road, and kids’ bikes.

Pro Mechanic Tip
Staggering the vertical position of adjacent hooks by 6–8 inches allows you to pack bikes 12 inches apart without handlebars locking together.
